Marie Scheppmann I was in a car accident and have herniated disks. I tried something I had not heard of before. I wasn’t willing to get the cage surgery that takes out the bad disks and replaces them with cadaver bones and then builds a cage around to support. I went to the center for pain medicine at the University of Iowa. They performed something called radio frequency oblation. They basically found the right nerves that were causing the pain very tricky and deadened them. I had been pain free from that injury for a year. It was wonderful to get up from the outpatient procedure and feel NO more pain. It wouldn’t work for the lower back pain though. I couldn’t tell from your post if your disk injury was high or low.
